Settings reference

Find every account-level setting, what it changes, which role can see it, and whether it affects current or future shows.

Account settings and show settings

Account Settings stores your identity, appearance, and defaults. Show settings changes the draft or live show you are currently running.

Account Settings

Account menu → Settings

Shared profile and appearance controls, plus host-only defaults and links to integrations, ads, overlays, and branding.

Default show settings

Future drafts

Seeds each new show when it is created. Changing a default does not rewrite drafts or ended shows that already exist.

Show settings

Current show

Opens from a draft or live dashboard. Changes the current show and can copy that configuration into your defaults with Set as default.

Most settings save as you change them

Toggles and color controls write through without a separate Save button. The listener display-name form is the exception: edit the field, then choose Save.

Global account settings

Account menuSettings

These settings belong to the signed-in account rather than one show. Profile and sign-out state follow the account; Appearance is stored for this browser. Neither changes a saved stream overlay’s own color mode.

Profile · Public page

Host only

Shows the permanent public URL, with Copy link and View actions.

Profile · Username

Host only · read-only

The host handle used in the public URL. It cannot be edited from Settings.

Profile · Display name

Listener only

The no-spaces name used for future roll-call check-ins, podiums, and overlays.

Profile · Email

Read-only

The address attached to the signed-in account. It is not public.

Appearance

Light · Dark · System

Chooses the HeatCheck interface theme for this browser. It does not change a saved stream overlay’s color mode.

Account · Log out

Signs this device out and returns to the public home page.

Default show settings

This host-only card defines how a newly created draft starts. It does not create a show or change one that already exists.

Vote expiry

Default on · 2 min

Turns automatic vote expiration on or off and sets a duration from 30 seconds to 10 minutes in 30-second steps.

Listener suggestions

Default off

Determines whether a new show starts with the suggestions board enabled.

Roll call

Default off

Determines whether a new show opens the listener check-in race.

Ads

Default off

Determines whether a new show runs the account’s active creatives. Manage the library and active set separately in Settings → Ads.

Live video

Needs a connected channel

Determines whether a new show embeds the connected YouTube live stream. The row is locked until you connect a channel in Settings → Integrations.

Enabling a feature also shows its panel

A new show cannot start with roll call, suggestions, ads, or live video enabled while hiding the only panel that can control it. HeatCheck automatically shows the matching panel when you enable that feature default.

Panels and dashboard layout

Under Panels shown by default, choose which controls a new dashboard includes. Hiding a panel changes the host workspace only; it does not remove an account-level library or delete data.

  • Stream overlays

Feature-owned panels

A panel cannot be hidden by default while its feature starts enabled. Turn the feature default off first.

Pin the monitor

Layout

Keeps the live gauge and room figures visible while the control column scrolls on a wide dashboard.

Host-only settings pages

Integrations

Open Integrations to connect or disconnect a YouTube channel and choose whether video and live chat appear on new shows by default. Live chat requires video.

Ads

Open Ads to build up to 50 sponsor creatives, edit or delete them, choose which are in rotation, and read recent and all-time click totals.

Stream overlays

Open Stream overlays to create, duplicate, edit, preview, or delete up to 24 reusable arrangements and copy their setup details.

Custom Branding

Open Custom Branding to upload a logo, choose an accent and gauge ramp, and independently apply the saved design to the public voting page or the host dashboard’s live gauge panel.

These pages configure account-level assets. Per-show use still lives on the show dashboard: connect a channel once, then choose whether a particular show displays it; build ads once, then enable ads and choose placement for the show.

Save a current show as the new default

Open Show settings on a draft or live dashboard. When the current configuration differs from your account defaults, the menu shows Set as default.

That action copies vote expiry, suggestions, roll call, ads, live video and chat, panel visibility, and the pinned-monitor choice into the starting configuration for future shows. It does not copy the show name, schedule, segment list, notes, or a running poll.
